摘要: Abstract : Measurement of the charge transfer cross section for process N+ + O yields N O+ was completed during contract year. The experiment conducted using a crossed beam apparatus. atoms were formed in microwave or rf discharge pure O2 with traces H2O present. Varying amount present allowed dissocation fraction to varied. This variation needed allow determination effects other competing processes. above reaction determined energy range from 0.5 eV 12 center-of-mass system. signals obtained indicated that this does not vary rapidly energy. be 1.2 x 10 -17th power sq cm at lowest energies studied and increases approximately 2.5 center-of-mass. Cross sections reactions Al+ AlO+ Al O2(+) N2 AlN+ N2(+) measured period. values these processes essentially same as those previously. In addition, upper limits where have very small probabilities pushed lower values. measurements undertaken resolve conflict between our data postulated explain results another experiment.
