摘要: Clathrin has been prepared from human and bovine brains by a rapid technique which does not require sucrose gradient centrifugation. The promoter molecule is obtained the ability to polymerize form protein coats, i.e., so-called cages or baskets, resemble structures observed in coated vesicles. polymerization of clathrin cage 0.2 M ammonium acetate, pH 6.8, results two distributions sedimenting particles ultracentrifuge, one centered near 300S other 150S. Equilibrium sedimentation gives molecular weights 150S 25 million 100 million, respectively. turbidities species have measured during centrifugation ultracentrifuge. When turbidity values are combined with weight values, radii can be obtained, assuming hollow sphere as model for polyhedral molecules.
