摘要: As defined by the Food and Agriculture Organization, food security exists when all people, at times, have physical economic access to sufficient, safe nutritious meet their needs. Nevertheless, external forces as, indicatively, climate change, global population increase, rise of alternative energy sources, agricultural technological advances, consumer dietary preferences changes shape contemporary management landscape disputing aforementioned definition. Furthermore, recent crisis 2007-2008 brought insecurity forefront sustainable development agenda highlighting need reconsider structure operations international agrifood supply networks (AFSN), streamline relevant policy-making. In this manuscript, we provide a two-fold critical taxonomy challenges future uncertainties. More specifically, identify major that render with great volatility existing research efforts, according four basic dimensions, i.e. availability, stability, accessibility, utilization, as these are mapped on sustainability aspects (environmental, economic, societal, governmental) an AFSN. Our analysis demonstrates AFSNs attracted interest, focusing more addressing case-dependent AFSN problems, less developing integrated methodological approaches for optimization entire chain. further incorporates System Dynamics approach captures dynamic nature interrelations in context allows assessment different policy interventions. This work is first step towards quantitative strategic decisionmaking support tool could be employed policy-makers, both private public sectors, including governments, organizations, industry enterprises effective design efficient operation manner.
