摘要: Accurate estimation of mixed-mode stress intensity factors is essential for the fracture and fatigue studies structural components. A recently proposed displacement-based method utilizing nodal values crack opening sliding displacements discussed in this work. Convergence characteristics present are studied using finite element meshes various mesh densities. The performance analysis carried out benchmark examples available literature, SIF solutions compared with commonly used techniques such as displacement extrapolation, interaction integral J-integral techniques. requires less computational efforts only than its path independent counterparts. Furthermore, unlike other popular considered study, also provides sign mode II factor. This enables to be growth simulations.
