Clinical profile of measles in children with special reference to infants.

摘要: This study was conducted to analyse the clinical characteristics of measles in infants and compare them with those older children. Clinical sociodemographic details all hospitalised children suspected were recorded confirmed cases analysed further. Twenty-four 34 aged >1 year included. Most boys 15 (62.5%) <9 months. Early onset rash (within three days fever 62.5% cases) occurred infants. The complications included bronchopneumonia (n = 17, 71%), acute diarrhoea (n = 8, 33%), meningitis (n = 1, 4%) staphylococcal sepsis (n = 2, 8%). number significantly high (88% 65%; P = 0.05). Measles can have atypical presentations, a greater risk for may occur before they are due receive conventional first dose vaccine.
