摘要: Indiscriminate disposal of waste water by industries and use effluent from the channel for irrigation purpose in peri-urban areas poses a major threat to food safety. The key objective this study was therefore estimate heavy metal content foods grown around city Vadodara assess health risk population. A total 40 17 samples were assayed using AAS. results indicated that mean Arsenic cereals (4ppm), pulses (2.5ppm), other vegetables (1.95ppm), green leafy (5ppm) roots tubers (2.5ppm) exceeded critical values. Cereals (1.65ppm), fruits (1.98ppm) curd (2.8ppm) limits Cadmium. Mean (3.79ppm) Lead (0.17ppm) drinking higher than limits. Health assessed Total Daily Intake (TDI), Provisional Tolerable (PTDI), Weekly (PTWI), provisional tolerable monthly intake (PTMI), Metals(DIM), Risk Index (HRI) hazard Quotient (THQ) Cadmium, population at toxicity.
