摘要: Abstract “Green water”—the water stored in the soil and productively used for plant transpiration—is an important quantity particularly rainfed agriculture (in contrast to “blue water” available streams lakes, on which irrigation relies). This study provides preliminary estimates of contemporary (1961–1990) global green flows (i.e. transpiration), using a well-established, process-based dynamic vegetation balance model, LPJ. Transpiration is analysed with respect differences between simulation that accounts human land cover changes under conditions potential natural vegetation. We found historic change usually reduced flow atmosphere, resulting decrease ∼7% total. To further explore how biophysical setting influences flow, we analyse ratio moisture-limited canopy conductance carbon energy-controlled conductance. physiology-based measures degree actual falls below would occur when saturated, thus it represents measure limitation terrestrial lowest wet tropics at high latitudes, where moisture enough meet atmospheric demand transpiration. The present results are preliminary, since not yet accounted for, because model simulations compromised primarily by quality input data. A more comprehensive consistent assessment blue limitations enhanced LPJ identified as prime task future studies.
