摘要: The field of veterinary radiation therapy (RT) has gained substantial momentum in recent decades with significant advances conformal treatment planning, image-guided (IGRT), and intensity-modulated (IMRT) techniques. At the root these advancements lie improvements tumor imaging, image alignment (registration), target volume delineation, identification critical structures. Image registration been widely used to combine information from multimodality images such as computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission (PET) improve accuracy delivery reliably identify tumor-bearing areas. Many different techniques have applied registration. This review provides an overview medical RT its applications oncology. A summary most commonly approaches human medicine is presented along their current use IGRT adaptive (ART). It important realize that does not guarantee volumes, gross (GTV), are correctly identified on being registered, limitations unique algorithms exist. Research involving novel frameworks for automatic segmentation volumes ongoing comparative oncology programs offer a opportunity test efficacy proposed algorithms.
