摘要: Abstract Background Organic fluorophores embedded in lipid bilayers can nowadays be described by a multiscale computational approach. Combining different length and time scales, full characterization of the probe localization optical properties led to novel insight into effect environments. Scope review Following an introduction on advancements, three relevant probes are reviewed that delineate how approach lead probes' (non) linear properties. Attention is paid quality theoretical description techniques. Major conclusions Computation assess priori guide analysis interpretation experimental data studies. The used gain information phase condition surrounding biological environment. General significance showed canonical view some should revisited adapted.
