摘要: Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is characterised by a combination of different metabolic factors associated with cardiovascular events and higher risk all-cause mortality. The pathogenesis MetS complex multifactorial. However, there evidence that psychological factors, such as stress shift work, may be involved in the aetiology MetS. Objective To investigate relationship between perceived levels among women workers Southern Brazil. Methods A matched case-control study was conducted including 50 cases met criteria 2009 Joint Interim Statement 200 age-matched controls (±3 yrs, 4 for each case). Perceived were measured Stress Scale 10 items (PSS-10). Multivariate-adjusted associations assessed conditional logistic regression. Results PSS-10 demonstrated adequate psychometric properties. value Cronbach’s α coefficient 0.76 an average inter-item correlation 0.24. scores ranged from 0 to 34 points means ± standard deviations not significantly (14.2 5.9 vs. 15.5 5.6; P = 0.15). In addition, no association observed multivariate model level after these exposures stratified into tertiles. odds ratios 0.73 (95% CI: 0.36–1.52) 0.74 0.34–1.61) mid top tertiles, respectively. Conclusions Overall, difference or without regard levels. Our results do support this sample Brazilian workers. Future epidemiological studies are necessary confirm our findings, taking account job characteristics order improve understanding complexities relationship.
