摘要: Perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are man-made organic pollutants that found ubiquitously in the environment and may impact human health. Here, we review published literature concerning PFAA impacts on neurobiological, neuroendocrine, neurobehavioral outcomes. We find there many mechanisms through which PFAAs enter brain interact with biochemical endpoints to neurological function. These results supported by epidemiological evidence humans experimental animals demonstrate numerous varied nervous system. However, methods commonly used animal models of exposure result durations serum concentrations blood not appropriately mimic absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion. If lack validity, confidence mechanistic inferences regarding function is reduced, limiting these studies' utility. Finally, end suggesting some potential health disease states whose associations readily present themselves literature.
