摘要: Most of the world's species at risk extinction are neither particularly attractive nor obviously useful, and consequently lack conservation support. In contrast, public, politicians, scientists, media organisations extremely sympathetic to a select number well-known admired species, variously called flagship, charismatic, iconic, emblematic, marquee poster species. These attractive, large, entertaining or they receive lion's share public private financial support, publicity, research, protective legislation.
