摘要: Water security exists when adequate water of appropriate quality is available for both human and environmental needs. Food all people have access to suffi cient safe, nutritious food meet their are intimately interrelated because attempts increase can compromise security, instance, irrigation leads degraded aquatic ecosystems. In an important shift in thinking, there now widespread acceptance the fact that technological solutions alone will not solve problems. Instead, it necessary also address root causes insecurity, many which relate mismanagement, inappropriate policies, weak governance. The concept governance refers ways decisions affect made, who involved making those decisions, how power distributed society. This chapter explores links between A case study Murray–Darling Basin used illustrate considerations, including changing roles individuals, communities, corporations this region.
