摘要: The study of the foraminiferal fauna in Ogmore section south Wales produced a detailed late Chadian–early Arundian biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy with higher resolution than stratotype Hobbyhorse Bay. earliest Visean (late Chadian) pedogenic horizon close to Gully Oolite Caswell Bay Mudstone boundary (MFZ9) corresponds mid-Avonian unconformity. entry primitive archaediscids MFZ10 within is followed by more advanced MFZ11 at base High Tor Limestone. unconformity Chadian–Arundian not confined London–Brabant Massif, but also present central Europe, East European Platform, Urals, west Siberia probably Kuzbass North America. global extent suggests that it consequence early mid-Visean glacioeustacy.
