摘要: When allocating limited funds to bicycle facilities, it would be helpful know the extent which a new facility will used. If lane is added street, how many bicyclists no longer use sidewalk? separate path constructed, move from street or Bicyclists were interviewed at end of their trips and asked part cross-sections along routes they had used – on-street off-street. This study developed random-parameter probit model analyze bicyclists’ preferences capture unobserved heterogeneity across population. was found superior standard binary random effects model. Sidewalk width, traffic signals, segment length, road functional class, pavement condition, one-way configuration statistically significant. The compound multiple variables demonstrated by varying sidewalk width Bicycle Compatibility Index. results suggest that merely adding does not guarantee significant proportion switch it. Lessons also can drawn marginal elasticity indicate where particular most compatible with revealed choices.
