摘要: A multistate cooperative study was conducted to the current issue of tail length in docked lambs and its relationship incidence rectal prolapse. total 1,227 at six locations were randomly allocated two or three dock treatments: 1) short--tail removed as close body possible, 2) medium--tail a location midway between attachment caudal folds tail, 3) long--tail tail. Short-docked had greater (P < 0.05) prolapse (7.8%) than with medium (4.0%) long (1.8%) dock. Female higher male lambs. At stations, finished either feedlot on high-concentrate diet pasture no grain supplementation. one station, very low prolapse, there difference pasture; however, station relatively high pasture. The half-sib estimate heritability for (0.14). results this strongly implicate short cause diets. Furthermore, only other known suggest that docking site will result negligible
