摘要: While there is no interesting limitation on the degree of right-embedding in acceptable sentences, center-embedding quite severely restricted. Similarly, while bound number nouns that can occur noun compounds, a very low causative morphemes verb compounds agglutinative languages. Turning to clausenal clusters West Germanic languages, we nd another similar bound. A cluster including verbs from one embedded clause may be acceptable, but formed two or three even more deeply clauses are much awkward (regardless whether subject-verb dependencies crossing nested). And languages allow multiple wh-extractions single clause, extractions than element with given case quickly become unacceptable. More careful experimental study nature these limitations needed, range here preliminary attempt made subsume them all under generalization, version familar idea human parsing mechanism limited its ability keep track many grammatical relations same kind. To make this precise, assume rst place,
