摘要: The motility of amoeboid cells the plasmodial slime mould Physarum polycephalum was studied experimentally. Analysis their trajectories and mean square displacements reveal two characteristic types behaviour that depend on time interval τ between any pair points along trajectory. Whereas free migration is observed for intervals > 300 s, at short (of up to ≈ 100 s) due changes in cell shape induced by peristaltic pumping protoplasm though cell. Freely migrating display persistent random motion with very long persistence times 5500 s. Superdiffusive typically lasts 18000 independently intensity illumination green light. symmetric velocity distributions are found τ, typical from freely show an asymmetry, which reflects long-lasting motions. We high propagation velocities correlated both, episodes straight elongated shape. Finally, squared displacement where avoided crossing own trails were compared those cells.
