摘要: Assessment of surgical technical skills has traditionally occurred through informal means using sporadic and subjective feedback. Recent trends in patient safety, simulation training, technological advances have generated a need for accurate objective assessment skills. This review is intended to identify the breadth scope recent approaches skill metrics define gaps further development. Surgical methods can be broadly categorized as (1) assessments by expert observations validated task-specific checklists global rating scales, (2) automated motion tracking mechanical force sensors, accelerometers or computer video analysis, (3) outcome metrics. are likely play an ever-increasing role training certification. Further research needed determine optimal relevant real-world outcomes.
