摘要: Abstract A quantitative study, including mass spectrometric identification, of the carotenoids isolated from some selected prymnesiophytes harvested in exponential growth phase has been carried out. Isochrysis galbana, Hymenomonas carterae, Prymnesium parvum, Pavlova (Monochrysis) lutheri and a sp. all produce β,β-carotene, diatoxanthin, diadinoxanthin fucoxanthin (major carotenoid) various proportions, addition to several minor were found characteristic each alga. 19'-Hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin, previously shown be major carotenoid prymnesiophyte Emeliana (Coccolithus) huxleyi , was not encountered Prymnesiophyceae studied here, we conclude that this should critically looked for other members Gephyrocapsaceae which E. belongs. We further complement Chrysophyceae (in narrow sense) compared with Prymnesiophyceae.
