摘要: We present a new model of the nebular emission from star-forming galaxies in wide range chemical compositions, appropriate to interpret observations at all cosmic epochs. The relies on combination state-of-the-art stellar population synthesis and photoionization codes describe ensemble H ii regions diffuse gas ionized by young stars galaxy. A main feature this is self-consistent yet versatile treatment element abundances depletion dust grains, which allows one relate observed galaxy both gas-phase dust-phase metal enrichment. show that can account for rest-frame ultraviolet optical emission-line properties different redshifts find lines are more sensitive than ones parameters such as C/O abundance ratio, hydrogen density, dust-to-metal mass ratio upper cut-off initial function. also that, metallicities around solar slightly subsolar, widely used formulae constrain oxygen ionic fractions luminosities reasonable faithful. However, recipes break down non-solar metallicities, making them inappropriate study chemically galaxies. In cases, fully kind presented paper required emission.
