A simplified human vision model applied to a blocking artifact metric

摘要: A novel approach towards a simplified, though still reliable human vision model based on the spatial masking properties of visual system (HVS) is presented. The contains two basic characteristics HVS, namely texture and luminance masking. These effects are implemented as simple filtering followed by weighting function, efficiently combined into single visibility coefficient. This HVS applied to blockiness metric using its output scale blockedge strength. To validate proposed model, performance in determined comparing it same having different HVS-based models embedded. results show that indeed simple, without compromising accuracy.
