摘要: The European process industry is facing major challenges. Modern, large-scale production facilities in other parts of the world are often more efficient. Furthermore, limited access to inexpensive shale gas from North America has led an additional disadvantage for industry. At same time, Union (EU) implemented policy instruments aiming at increasing costs emitting Greenhouse Gases (GHG) order curb global warming. According International Energy Agency (IEA), only measure that decreases GHG emissions and time achieves economic, environmental societal goals energy efficiency. Clusters industrial plants offer considerable opportunities increase efficiency total site level. Another option tap into new markets stay competitive. interest biomass based products increased lately due expectations sustainable development renewable feedstock products. This work presents a framework methodology can provide guidance manage this transformation efficient way. Process integration tools used identify common measures improve site-wide scale. This targeting procedure followed by detailed design evaluation practical measures. step should be performed close collaboration with experts cluster present solutions overcome some main barriers implementation knowledge obtained during also favourable ways integrate processes replace fossil biogenic feedstocks utilise existing infrastructure. In most chemical processes, there usually excess heat cannot utilised internally. last stage developed work, opportunity export investigated. includes assessment quantity available heat, economic feasibility competition between internal heat. The demonstrated via case study Sweden.
