Evidence for impaired T cell DNA methylation in systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

摘要: Procainamide and hydralazine inhibit T cell DNA methylation induce autoreactivity in cloned CD4+ cells. These drugs also an autoimmune syndrome, suggesting a possible relationship between hypomethylation, autoreactivity, certain diseases. To test this relationship, was studied cells from patients with rheumatoid arthritis systemic lupus erythematosus, found to be impaired. results support hypomethylation some forms of disease.
