摘要: The early studies of optical fibres for telecommunications use were almost exclusively centred on monomode fibre. (1, 2) Later, from about 1970 onward, interest grew in multimode fibre and the realisation that graded- index capable low enough dispersion over distances 5 to 10kms transmission up a few 100Mbit/s led their widespread adoption (3) larger core diameters they offered made possible simple splicing techniques field environment adequate performance was available. These systems used sources operating 850 900 nm waveband where attenuations range 3 6 dB/km are typical. Such technology is typical virtually all productions today.
