摘要: Understanding the distribution patterns and scale of patchiness key beneficial species in fields field margins, spatial temporal stability these patterns, can provide valuable information on species’ ecological requirements. However, previous studies have focussed within single fields, although aggregations may extend beyond boundaries and, for some species, be influenced by them. To investigate this, Coleoptera was monitored across 66 ha arable land encompassing six their boundaries. Sampling carried out using two pitfall traps at each 973 locations arranged a regular grid pattern four occasions between May July 2000. The visualised GIS mapping analysed SADIE to identify patches gaps significant size. Evidence aggregation is presented total carabid number, Bembidion lampros, Pterostichus madidus Philonthus cognatus. highest diversity found near For extent confined experiment formed part new MAFF SAPPIO project “3D Farming – making biodiversity work Farmer.”
