摘要: Abstract Simultaneous satellite and ship-borne surveys have been conducted to investigate the dispersion patterns of dredging plumes off south coast Korea in two contrasting seasons (spring autumn). The distribution total suspended solid (TSS) derived from sequential imagery showed that spring developed over longer distances along surface current than those autumn. In spring, deep strong stratified condition water column contributed increase radius plume surface. autumn, shallow vertically well-mixed (or un-stratified) enhanced sinking dredged materials. This difference is due Brunt-Vaisala frequency being higher (0.0183 s − 1 ) autumn (0.0123 s ). Although sediment-laden overflow significantly increased TSS near during period, contribution stratification was only 2.3−5.6% thermohaline contribution. Therefore, seasonal variation density main factor determining study area.
