摘要: Trypanosoma cruzi is the causative agent of Chagas disease, an endemic human parasitosis in Latin America. This protozoan transmitted to and other mammals by blood-feeding bugs belonging Triatominae subfamily. There are two strains (T. I T. II) presenting different biological ecological characteristics. An original agent-based model (ABM) was designed for predicting prevalence (i.e., proportion infected individuals total population at a given time) II during single mixed infections. The ABM calibrated from experimental data retrieved literature. It shown that inclusion reservoir hosts as supplementary type necessary obtaining realistic simulation results strains. totally agreement with field observations on importance reservoirs parasite transmission cycle. Proposals were made refining model. More generally, advantages limitations parasitology modeling have been discussed.
