摘要: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common, debilitating neurodevelopmental associated with inattentiveness, pathological and impulsivity. Despite the mounting human animal evidence, neurological pathways underlying ADHD remain poorly understood. Novel translational model organisms, such as zebrafish (Danio rerio), are becoming important tools to investigate genetic pathophysiological mechanisms of various neuropsychiatric disorders. Here, we discuss etiology, existing models their limitations, emphasize advantages using ADHD. Overall, growing utility may improve our understanding facilitate drug discovery prevent or treat this disorder.
