A Century of the EOQ

摘要: When Ford W. Harris published his short three-page article developing the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model in 1913, he likely did not foresee that it would still be discussed and used 100 years later. Harris’ EOQ was one of first applications mathematical modeling to guide managers making business decisions, has spawned thousands related studies over past century have built on its major foundations insights. In this chapter we present a history by discussing itself, some practical issues about implementing model, extensions basic grouped dominant foci each subsequent decade.
