摘要: Abstract Empirical models of wave runup are commonly derived from open beaches, but their applicability in fetch-limited, sheltered environments yet to be properly assessed. Based on original video-derived observations 5 beaches with distinct morphodynamic states the Estuary and Gulf St. Lawrence (EGSL), this paper presents a analysis at regional scale. A wide range environmental parameters (varying climate, beach slopes, tidal range) types (platform-beach, without nearshore bars, sandy/gravel) considered. total 430 15 min timestacks have been analyzed over 35 different days across 3-year survey. Runup, setup, incident (f > 0.05 Hz) infragravity (f R 2 % for EGSL validated against new set observations. Overall, hydrodynamic forcing is dominant driver runup, including slope improves understanding components. The formulations offer strong potential assessment various morphological fetch-limited coastal environments.
