摘要: Objective.—To investigate the co-occurrence of migraine without aura (MWOA) and with (MWA) in a population-based twin survey. Background.—Migraine MWA are multifactorial disorders. If MWOA share common genes, should be observed more frequently than expected, ie, product prevalence general population. Material Methods.—The study population included all living Danish monozygotic (MZ) same-gender dizygotic (DZ) pairs born between 1953 1960: 5360 twins (2026 MZ, 3334 DZ). The sample 2840 men 2520 women. All received posted questionnaire, those possible were interviewed via telephone by trained physicians (V.U. or M.G.). Twins who did not respond to questionnaire had co-twin contacted telephone. response rate was 87% (4660 5360), interview participated 90% (2035 2272). physician interviewers unaware answers, zygosity, clinical diagnosis co-twin. criteria International Headache Society used establish migraine. Results.—Lifetime sample: 7% 19% women MWOA, while 8% MWA. Lifetime MWOA: MZ men, 2% (1 47); women, 6% (5 90); DZ 9% (7 75); 10% (19 182). MWA: 3% 33); 5% (3 58); (4 44); 13% (10 76). expected numbers based on significantly different either (men, P=.1 P=.5). Conclusion.—The results strongly suggest that distinct disorders, identification genes for MWA, thus, result from future genetic research.
