摘要: Locusts and grasshoppers continue to pose a threat agriculture in Africa. To date, insecticides are still perceived as the only effective way of combating locusts. Since 1986, on average 3 million hectares have been treated annually with Africa Middle East. locusts preferably controlled before they reach cultivated areas, almost any type ecosystem may be affected by treatments, including desert grassland, wadis oases Sahara, semi-arid pasture lands northern Sahel, crops further south. Sedentary mainly sprayed but not necessarily while crops. Most used organophosphates (e.g. chlorpyrifos, fenitrothion) or pyrethroids deltamethrin, X-cyhalothrin) broad-spectrum activity. Recently, more specific chitin synthesis inhibitors diflubenzuron, triflumuron) phenyl pyrazoles (fipronil) being applied well.
