摘要: Our objective is to explain recent Lagrangian acceleration measurements of inertial particles in decaying, nearly isotropic turbulence [Ayyalasomayajula et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 144507 (2006)]. These experiments showed that as particle effects increased, the variance fluctuations was reduced, and tails normalized probability density function (PDF) became systematically attenuated. We model this phenomenon using a base flow consists two-dimensional array evenly spaced vortices with signs intensities vary randomly time. simulate large sample moving through fluid without disturbing (one-way coupling). Consistent Bec al. [J. Fluid Mech. 550, 349 (2006)], we find our exhibits preferential concentration or clustering regions located away from vortex centers. That is, selectively field, oversampling re...
