Information from the Internet and the doctor-patient relationship: the patient perspective--a qualitative study.

摘要: Both doctors and patients may perceive the Internet as a potential challenge to existing therapeutic relationships. Here we examine patients' views of effect on their relationship with doctors. We ran 8 disease specific focus groups between 2 respondents comprising adult diabetes mellitus, ischaemic heart or hepatitis C. Data are presented (i) perceived benefits (ii) limitations in context doctor-patient relationship, (iii) sharing information doctors, (iv) for future. Information from was particularly valued relation experiential knowledge. Despite evidence increasing patient activism seeking position doctor, accounts here do not any way suggest desire disrupt balance power, roles, consultation.
