摘要: A three-generational analysis of marriages involving Mexican American in Los Angeles County shows higher rates exogamy than do earlier studies. Exogamy is for women and increases with removal from immigrants status. There a strong pattern generational endogamy suggestion that social distance between generations may be as important the ethnic group dominant society. more prevalent among higher-status idividuals; some exceptions, occupation appears to better predictor fo generation. Generally, older groom, "Mexican" spouse, though not same brides. The findings have implications assimilation Americans understanding processes assimilation.
