摘要: Coaxial Helicity Injection (CHI) has been successfully used in the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) for a demonstration of closed flux current generation without use central solenoid. The favorable properties (ST) arise from its very small aspect ratio. However, ratio devices have restricted space substantial Thus methods initiating plasma relying on induction solenoid are essential viability ST concept. CHI is promising candidate solenoid-free startup ST. method now produced up to 160 kA verifying high capability this large built with conventional tokamak components.
