摘要: Kudzu (Pueraria thunbergiana) root has long been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. However, the vine of kudzu plant considered waste material. This study aimed to investigate hepatoprotective properties vine. We created 0 %, 30 70 and 95 % ethanolic extracts. The isoflavone contents extract were quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography. Tertiary-butylhydroperoxide (t-BHP) was added human liver-derived HepG2 cells, production reactive oxygen species measured presence absence extract. Antioxidant activity evaluated all extracts using a hydroxyradical scavenging assay. Thirty-five male Sprague–Dawley rats divided into seven groups (n = 5); two not given any or drug, one group treated with 50 mg/kg silymarin orally for 5 days, remaining four respectively 100 once daily days. On day treatment untreated fed 0.75 ml/kg carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induce liver damage. Blood tissue samples collected 24 h after CCl4 administration measurement plasma alanine aminotransferase aspartate aminotransferase, concentration malondialdehyde glutathione tissue. Puerarin most abundant significantly reduced cytotoxicity induced t-BHP dose-dependent manner. Treatment lowered levels CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity rat model (P < 0.05). Glutathione elevated extract-treated (P < 0.05), while level decreased is potentially highly beneficial treating damage, as it scavenges free radicals boosts endogenous antioxidant system.
