摘要: We study the phase behavior of bowl-shaped (nano)particles using confocal microscopy and computer simulations. Experimentally, we find formation a wormlike fluid in which particles have strong tendency to stack on top each other. However, free energy calculations simulations, show that is out-of-equilibrium columnar thermodynamically stable for sufficiently deep bowls high densities.
