摘要: Injuries resulting from falls in elderly people are a major public-health concern, representing one of the main causes longstanding pain, functional impairment, disability, and death this population. The problem is going to worsen, since rates such injuries seem be rising many areas, as number both developed developing world. Many methods programmes prevent already exist, including regular exercise, vitamin D calcium supplementation, withdrawal psychotropic medication, cataract surgery, professional environment hazard assessment modification, hip protectors, multifactorial preventive for simultaneous reduction predisposing situational risk factors. To receive broader-scale effectiveness, these will need systematic implementation. Care must taken, however, rigorously select right actions those most likely benefit, supplementation protectors living institutions.
