摘要: We examined the respiratory activity of genioglossus, sternothyroid, and sternohyoid muscles rat during nonrapid eye movement (non-REM) REM sleep. Each animal carried implanted electrodes for recording integrated EMG muscles, postural tone (EMG), electrocortical (polygraphic identification sleep-waking states). The three upper airway exhibited inspiratory non-REM sleep while rats breathed ambient air. Curled up postures promoted genioglossus sternothyroid an effect enhanced by CO2 breathing but reduced hypoxic breathing. During sleep, lost their retained activity. conclude that contribute to patency augments hypoxia reduces. have at least two functions both states: they maintenance rib cage fixation, thereby optimizing ventilatory action diaphragm.
