摘要: Objectives To compare the trajectory of motor decline, as measured by gait speed and finger-tapping speed, between elderly people who developed mild cognitive impairment (MCI) those remained cognitively intact. We also sought to determine approximate time at which decline in function accelerated persons MCI. Design Longitudinal cohort study. Participants were 204 healthy seniors (57.8% women) from Oregon Brain Aging Study evaluated for up 20 years using annual neurologic, neuropsychological, examinations. Main Outcome Measures The pattern with aging was compared a mixed-effects model an interaction term age clinical diagnosis before MCI, when change or accelerates, assessed point men women, separately combined, Results rates change, aging, ( P  = .003) nondominant hand Conclusions Motor indexed accelerates 12 changes may be useful early detection dementia during preclinical stages, utility disease-modifying therapies would greatest.
