摘要: Computational simulations are used as an integral part of arc-jet testing from the planning stages experiments through post-test analysis for increasingly complex test configurations. This paper reports two applications such analysis: reinforced carbon-carbon plug repair tests conducted in a NASA Ames facility, and feasibility study full-scale Shuttle wing leading edge where four possible configurations investigated. For tests, flows over wedge models, with without plugs mounted, differing step height diameters, simulated. study, simulated, based on predicted environments these configurations, one is recommended future repair. The present analyses comprise computational nonequilibrium flowfield facility nozzle box well models. These examples further demonstrate value tests.
