摘要: Background Functional restoration of the facial expression is necessary after nerve resection to treat head and neck tumors. This study was conducted evaluate functional outcomes patients who underwent cable grafting immediately tumor resection. Methods Patients from April 2007 August 2011 were reviewed, in which a harvested branch sural grafted onto each division. Twelve radical parotidectomy, total or schwannoma resection, patient evaluated using Facial Nerve Grading Scale 2.0. The results analyzed according age, follow-up duration, use postoperative radiation therapy. Results Among 12 evaluated, mean duration 21.8 months, age at time surgery 42.8 years, score 14.6 points, indicating moderate dysfunction. scores not influenced by surgery, Conclusions this indicate that can restore expression.
