摘要: The metacercarial cyst of the heterophyid trematode Stellantchasmus falcatus in striated muscles mullet Mugil cephalus consists three layers. Histochemical studies have indicated that these layers are chemically distinct. acellular inner layer is comprised complex carbohydrate polyanions rich acidic groups while medial cellular a neutral mucopolysaccharide including moeity poiyanions. These two believed to be parasite origin. outer and host It most include one or more following: mucopolysaccharides, glycolipids phospholipids. In addition, associated with mucopolysaccharides and/or form sulphated undissociated carboxyls as well groups. The presence results necrotic degeneration host's myofibers situated proximity parasite. Large fat cells fill spaces vacated by muscle many blood occur along periphery
