摘要: Youth violence is an important public health problem. During the latter half of 1980s and early 1990s, United States witnessed unprecedented levels among nation's youths. Homicide remains one leading causes death for young people aged 10 to 24 years. This paper reviews major trends in homicide victimization perpetration youths during past decade, developmental pathways delinquent violent behavior context which these behaviors occur, some challenges associated with disrupting preventing violence. Previous research reveals that multiple lead toward delinquency. Predicting pathway a youth will follow, or if be followed at all, depends extent on host other biological, psychosocial, environmental factors present as transition from childhood adolescence adulthood. Preventing requires comprehensive approach takes into account needs, tasks, supports.
