摘要: Abstract This is the first of two papers presenting fatigue data for low alloy forged steels in a quenched and tempered condition. paper considers effect surface roughness, mean stress material strength on high cycle crack initiation life having tensile strengths range from 600 to 800 MPa. The scatter has been quantified set consisting 354 test results. Fatigue specimens roughness R = 0.3 μ m (polished surface) 6.3 (coarse production surface, resulting instance coarse grinding). A method estimating smooth steel or Vickers hardness presented. estimation validated with results compared other published methods strain–life properties. Part 2 this addresses seawater cathodic protection specimens.
