Collaborative Caching in Wireless Video Streaming Through Resource Auctions

摘要: Recent advances in wireless communications and mobile networking have dramatically increased the popularity of multimedia services for users, with video streaming at their fingertips. To facilitate efficient acquisition content, proxy caching has been widely used by service providers (WSPs), which typically deploy cache servers switching centers (MSCs). However, capacity provisioning is challenging, given dynamic user demands limited server resources. With densities deployment, it increasingly common that users are covered more than one WSP within an area. This brings opportunities a collaborative paradigm among deployed different MSCs. In this paper, we explore benefits services, addressing both challenges incentives truthfulness selfish WSPs. We propose mechanism maximizes social welfare context Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) auctions, cooperate trading resources self-enforcing manner. Experimental results demonstrate superior performance can be achieved respect to quality streaming.
