摘要: Fish are coated with an external layer of protective mucus. This serves as the primary barrier against infection or injury, reduces friction, and plays a role in ionic osmotic regulation. However, mucus is easily disturbed when fish netted, handled, transported, stressed, subjected to adverse water conditions. Water additives containing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) proprietary polymers have been used prevent deleterious effects disturbances commercial tropical industry, aquaculture, for other fisheries management purposes. paper reviews research on effectiveness conditioners, examines contents uses wide variety commercially available conditioners. conditioners may reduce damage held containers during scientific experimentation, including surgical implantation electronic tags. there need empirically test at preventing promoting healing layer. A agenda provided advance science related use conditions improve condition handling tagging.
