摘要: The theory of flow similarity has not been well established for granular flows, in contrast to the case conventional fluids, owing a lack reliable and general constitutive laws their continuum description. A rigorous investigation velocity fields different systems would be valuable theoretical studies. However, experimental measurements face technological physical problems. Numerical simulations that employ discrete element method (DEM) may an alternative experiments by providing similar results, where quantitative analysis could implemented with virtually no limitation. In this study, is investigated rolling regime rotating drums conducting based on DEM using graphics processing units. For constant Froude number, it found particle-to-drum size ratio plays dominant role determination field, while field much more sensitive some material properties than others. implications these findings are discussed terms establishing flows.
